Ordering & Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

Currently we accept Cash on Delivery (COD) across India. Online payment via UPI, debit/credit cards, and net banking is coming soon.

Can I modify or cancel my order?

Orders can be cancelled within 24 hours of placement by emailing support@sargam.in with your order number, provided the item has not yet been dispatched.

Is my personal information safe?

Yes. We never sell your data. Payment is collected at delivery (COD) and no card details are stored on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Shipping & Delivery

How long does delivery take?

Metro cities (Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, etc.): 3–5 business days. Tier 2/3 cities: 5–8 days. Remote areas: 8–12 days.

Is shipping free?

Yes. Shipping is free on all orders across India, with no minimum order value.

How are fragile instruments packed?

All instruments are individually wrapped in foam and packed in reinforced double-walled cardboard boxes. Sitars, tanpuras, and other large instruments are double-boxed. If your package arrives visibly damaged, photograph it before opening and contact us immediately.

Do you ship internationally?

Not yet. We currently ship within India only. International shipping is on our roadmap.

Instruments & Quality

Are the instruments tuned when they arrive?

Instruments are set up and checked before dispatch, but transit and climate changes can affect tuning. We recommend having the instrument tuned by a local musician or teacher upon arrival, or following the tuning guide included in the package.

What does "tonal profile" mean on the product page?

Tonal profile describes the acoustic character of an instrument — e.g., "Warm, Resonant, Meditative". It helps you choose an instrument suited to your music style before you can physically play it. Our YouTube demonstrations let you hear the difference.

How do I know which variant or size to choose?

Each variant page lists the attributes (wood type, scale, size) with a description of how they affect tone and playability. If you're unsure, email us at support@sargam.in and our team will help you choose.

Do you offer instruments for beginners?

Yes. Each product is tagged with a skill level (Beginner, Intermediate, Professional). We recommend starting with our Intermediate-tier instruments for adults — they are easier to play and hold their tone better than entry-level imports.

Returns & Warranty

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 7 days of delivery if the item is damaged, defective, or significantly different from what was ordered. The item must be unused and in original packaging. Change of mind is not accepted.

How do I start a return?

Email support@sargam.in with subject "Return Request – Order #[ID]", include photos of the issue, and we will respond within 1 business day.

How long does a refund take?

Once the returned item is received and inspected, refunds are processed within 5–7 business days via bank transfer (NEFT/IMPS) for COD orders.

What does the warranty cover?

All instruments carry a 6-month craftsmanship warranty against manufacturing defects — e.g., a cracked gourd, a detached bridge, or a warped neck. It does not cover normal wear, string breakage, or damage from humidity or temperature extremes.
